Alex Cobb finally will have the chance that he has been looking for the whole offseason, as according to Ken Rosenthal from the Athletic, the right-handed pitcher is close to reaching a deal with the Baltimore Orioles.
The O's have been previously linked with Cobb earlier this month, as the player is in pursuit of a multi-year deal. Rosenthal reports that Baltimore is willing to give Cobb a $50 million contract for 3 years.
Alex Cobb is the last top pitcher that remains as a free agent, after Yu Darvish, Jake Arrieta, and Lance Lynn signed deals earlier in the offseason, and it certainly looked like Cobb was gonna be left behind, as the regular season is quickly approaching.
The 30-year-old pitcher has battled with injuries these past couple of seasons, as he underwent a Tommy John surgery that kept him on the sidelines for almost two campaigns.
