The New York Yankees have a priority for this offseason and that is getting pitching opener especially a true # 1 for their rotation. That leads us to talk about the possible pitchers that could reach the team this winter, but while many have focused on free agency with Patrick Corbin, Dallas Keuchel, among others.
But, maybe the best option for the Yankees is a trade for one of the best big league pitchers ... Corey Kluber.
This week reports revealed that the Cleveland Indians are willing to trade their star veterans this winter and Kluber is on the list.
Something that surely caught the attention of the Yankees General Manager, Brian Cashman.
Yankees is one of the few teams that has the pieces to make a change for a pitcher like Kluber and maybe it's the right decision ... We remind you of Chris Sale with Red Sox.
What would it take to make a change for Kluber?
Yankees has young players of great interest for other teams such as Miguel Andújar, Gleyber Torres, Gary Sanchez and Clint Frazier in Major League Baseball and Minor League players such as Estevan Florial, Justus Sheffield, Albert Abreu, Domingo Acevedo, Jonathan Loaisiga and many more.
To make a trade happen for Kluber an MLB player would need to be included, say Andújar despite his possible Rookie of the Year, plus at least two of the best Yankees prospect pitchers.
Sheffield sure would be the first to ask and for Yankees a possible pitcher # 2 or # 3 in the rotation or a # 1 would be a decision that seems easy.
What is certain is that Kluber would put the Yankees at the Red Sox level or perhaps above the current champion.
