Jason Vargas is traded to the Phillies by the Mets

The changes continue in Queens

One day after the Mets acquired Marcus Stroman from the Toronto Blue Jays, it would appear that the Queens team would become buyers with a view to competing to enter the postseason after that change. However, his next move is quite confusing.

According to information from Jeff Passan of ESPN, the New York Mets have changed one of their starters, Jason Vargas, to his Philadelphia Phillies division rivals, with the package that would be sent to New York not yet known.

Vargas has had a fairly mediocre season as a starter for the Mets, with a 4.01 ERA in 94.1 pitches thrown, and a record of 6 wins and 5 losses in the campaign with 81 strikeouts in that span.
