The San Francisco Giants are continuing their pursuit of another outfield bat, and, according to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman, Carlos Gomez's name has come up.

Gomez, 32, slashed .255/.340/.462 for the Rangers last season but had only 426 plate appearances after battling hamstring and shoulder injuries. He remains a solid power-speed option with at least a dozen home runs and stolen bases in each of the past six seasons.

The Giants have been connected to several marquee players this offseason in the free-agent and trade markets. They have explored trades for Giancarlo Stanton, Jackie Bradley Jr., and Billy Hamilton, and they've been connected to free agents Lorenzo Cain and J.D. Martinez.

The Blue Jays have also been rumored to have interest in Gomez, and the Rangers haven't ruled out re-signing the former All-Star. Texas acquired for Gomez at the 2016 Trade Deadline and signed him to a 1-year, $11.5 million contract last offseason.
