Yasiel Puig would remain red, but now with another team in the same league, but in another division.
According to reports, the Philadelphia Phillies have been linked to almost all starter pitchers as the MLB exchange deadline of Wednesday, July 31 approaches. But what about adding a batter?
The Phillies have been linked to the right fielder of the Cincinnati Reds, Yasiel Puig.
Richard Justice of MLB.com wrote about the most likely stars to be moved before July 31, and says Puig could end up in Philadelphia.
His OPS is above 1,032 as of June 11. He also has 11 homers and 10 doubles in his last 39 games, and with an offensive production demand, the Reds will have options even with Puig entering free agency after the season. Possible landing points: Indians, Phillies, Rays ".
Philadelphia could certainly consider adding Puig and moving the last man Scott Kingery to third base. And is that Andrew McCutchen and Odubel Herrera will not play more this year, so Filis needs a gardener.
Puig, 28, is hitting .257 / .306 / .484 with 22 homers and 59 RBIs in 98 games this season in Cincinnati.
