C.C. Sabathia's return to Yankees depends on Shohei Ohtani

The "Bronx Bombers" are very interested in the Japanese player

C.C. Sabathia has made it known that he wants to come back to the Yankees next year.

But, the left-handers potential signing with the New York team could depend on what happens with another free agent, according to George A. King III del New York Post.

The Yankees are the favorites to sign the Japanese star Shohei Ohtani this winter, but it looks they will have to make it possible for Ohtani to play as a pitcher and a DH.

If signed, Ohtani would probably the fifth starter in the Yanks rotation, along with Luis Severino, Masahiro Tanaka, Sonny Gray and Jordan Montgomery, and surely some spot starts form Mine League talent.

That would leave the Yankees with no need to bring back Sabathia, despite having a great season, especially the second half.

Sabathia finished the season with 14 victories in 27 starts and a 3.69 ERA, who will be 37 next year.

The Yankees could consider bringing Sabathia back for 2018 and use a six-man rotation, but in that case, the left-hander would have to sign for a lot less than he probably had hoped for.

Despite having the second most money to able to sign Ohtani, $3.5 million, and being the favorited team to sign the Japanese star, his actions indicate that he is still not sold on any one team yet and is looking for the best possible situation for himself.

No matter the money.

Teams like the Seattle Mariners, plan to go "all in" on Ohtani and will offer "The Japanese Babe Ruth" the chance to do what he most wants... Be a Two-Way player.

Ohtani is expected to be posted later this week and after he chooses a team he will have 21 days to come up with a deal.
