The St. Louis Cardinals finally finished a trade with the Miami Marlins as the team from Florida continues to dump all of its assets this off-season. According to Craig Mish of SiriusXM radio, the Cardinals have reached a deal for Marlins outfielder Marcell Ozuna.
The Cardinals have been looking for a big bat outfielder since the start of the off-season, getting close to a trade for Giancarlo Stanton, but ultimately settling for Ozuna after Stanton rejected a trade to the "Red Birds".
According to Joel Sherman, the Cardinals are sending a four-player package to the Marlins headlined by pitcher Sandy Alcantara.
Ozuna, who is under control for the next two years, has been an All-Star the last two seasons and had his best year in 2017.
The outfielder batted for .302 with 37 homers and 127 runs batted in.
Ozuna has also shown a much-improved defense and won his first Gold Glove award this past season.
