The Diamondbacks have several holes to fill up for next season. One of them is in the closer's position since veteran Dominican closer Fernando Rodney finished his contract at the end of the season.
But in Arizona they were convinced of Rodney's work and according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the team would be looking to sign the Dominican again.
Rodney, who will be 41 years old next year, was not very dominant by posting a 4.23 ERA, but still managed 39 saves for the team from the desert..
Arizona's strongest reinforcement need will be in the outfield, that's the reason why the DBacks would look to sign Rodney to the closer position again quickly at a lower price than other candidates.
In free agency names like Wade Davis, Greg Holland and Brandon Kintzler, are the most mentioned at a much larger per year cost.
