The saga has finally ended

Looks like the story of the offseason has finally come to an end, as the much desired free agent J.D. Martínez has finally agreed to make a deal with the Boston Red Sox.

According to José Gómez of ESPN, the deal was finally made this Monday afternoon, as Jon Heyman of FanRagSports first reported that the parts were close to reaching an agreement hours before.

According to various sources, Martinez' deal will be a 5-year-long contract, earning $21 million each season.

The slugger was an object of desire amongst MLB teams, with the D-Backs were also close to making a deal with his former player.

J.D. Martinez had an outstanding 2017 season; he averaged .303 with 45 HR's and 104 RBI's while he played for the Detroit Tigers and the Arizona D-Backs.

He was an All-Star in 2015 and won the Silver Slugger Award that same season. Also, he hit 4 home runs in a single game on September 4th, 2017. Martinez holds an average of .285 during his career, with 152 HRs and 476 RBI's.
