The New York Mets could be saying goodbye to one of their starting pitchers very soon, as several teams are showing interest in the right-hander Matt Harvey.

According to MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal, the Mets are in talks with the Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles on a possible trade for Matt Harvey.

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports mentioned that talks between Rangers and Mets involved Jurickson Profar for Harvey.

But it appears the Rangers aren't willing to trade Profar for Harvey straight up, as the right-hander will be a free agent after 2018 and the infielder will still be in control.

On the Mets side, they feel that Harvey's ceiling is higher and therefore his value is than Profar in a trade.

The Orioles, the second team that called about Harvey, is looking for starters and if the price is right could deal for the right-hander who is coming off one of his worst seasons and surgery.

Rosenthal indicated that the Orioles have discussed trading a reliever for Harvey and mentions Brad Bach who is projected to make $5.2 million in arbitration by MLB Trade Rumors, Harvey $5.9 million.

Harvey's ceiling is pretty high,  because when he is on he is a Cy Young candidate, but injuries have derailed what many believed would be a Hall of Fame career.

Other teams looking for a starter like the Yankees and Cubs could still possibilities for the 2013 Rookie of the Year.
