The New York Mets are making some good deals this offseason, and now they want to improve their starting rotation with a seriously good move.

According to information provided by Mike Puma of The New York Post, the Mets have a "solid" interest in signing the All-Star now free agent, Jason Vargas.

 

The team of Queens are trying to solidify their starting rotation, which has been severely affected by injuries these past seasons.

Vargas had a great final season at the Kauffman Stadium, where he had a 18-11 record (being the AL Wins Leader), with a 4.16 ERA with 134 K's, numbers that saw him being name to his first All-Star game. Also he won the World Series with the Royals in 2015.

 

According to MLB Trade Rumors, he is expected to sign a deal worth $10 millions for 1 year.

 

The Mets have had a busy offseason, having landing via Jay Bruce and Todd Frazier. Also, they signed the Mexican slugger Adrián González, after being released by the Dodgers.
