The Royals could bring back Moustakas

Kansas City is considering making an offer for the player

Mike Moustakas is one of the most wanted and desired free agents this offseason, but for whatever reason, he remains unsigned to this date, with the Spring Training just days ahead of us.

After many teams reported being in negotiations with the player, now are his last team, the Kansas City Royals, the main candidates to sign the third baseman.

According to Jon Heyman of FanRagSports, who reported via his Twitter account that the Royals wanted to land both Eric Hosmer -who recently signed with the Padres- and Mike Moustakas, but didn't have the money to make a deal with the two World Series champions.

Now with Hosmer out of the table, the Royals are ready to put their money on Moustakas, who is a main priority for the franchise, after they also lose Lorenzo Cain this offseason. Cain was also part of the 2015 Royals Team that won the World Series.

Moustakas had an outstanding 2017 Season, which saw him breaking the Royals' single-season Home Run record, with 38. He had an average of .278 last season and had 85 RBI's and he was named an All-Star.

MLB Trade Rumors projects that he will get a 5-year-deal worth $85 million.
