The White Sox of Chicago have nothing to lose in 2018 since no one expects them to be anywhere close contention.

That is why the team is considering changing one of its last stars for a few more prospects to fill out a star-studded new team core, that is being led by prospects like Eloy Jiménez and Michael Kopech.

According to the latest MLB Trade Rumors reports, the White Sox will hear offers for their All-Star first basemen Jose Abreu this winter.

It is clearly known that the team from South Chicago is in a rebuilding process that began last season, when they traded their top star Chris Sale, followed by Adam Eaton and Jose Quintana, among others.

Abreu, 30 years old, represents a very interesting and cheaper option for teams that are looking for a first baseman this winter. The Cuban is under control for the next two seasons and is projected to earn a total of $ 17.9 million in 2018.

The first basemen finished the 2017 season with an average of .304 with 33 homers, 102 runs batted in a total of 156 Games.

Some of the teams that could be interested in the services of Abreu are the Royals, because, the team will probably be losing its first basemen in free agency, Eric Hosmer, who is believed to be looking for a contract over $100 million dollars, the Cuban could adjust perfectly with the team.
