As we rapidly approach to the spring training, it seems like the free agent market finally begins to heat up, as rumors of big moves begining to round up amongst media and teams coming up with ideas to bring big players to their rosters.
Reporter Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic came up with an idea that could change the landscape of the AL East and the whole MLB. This trade propossal, that according to Rosenthal, was "kicked around" by the involved teams.
The trade propossal is: New York gets Machado from the Orioles for Jacoby Ellsbury and top 50 prospect Miguel Andujar. Tampa Bay gets a package of mid-level prospects from the Yankees while sending starter Jake Odorizzi to Baltimore.
Althought the teams just talked about the possibility of the deal being made, Rosenthal states that the trade is "unlikely to happen", even though the three teams will be benefited in one way or another.
Machado will become a free agent next offseason, and is an object of desire by the likes of the Red Sox and the Yankees. The American-born Dominican have began his career in 2012 with the Orioles, and have spent his whole career in Baltimore. He holds a career AVG of .280 with 138 HR's and 405 RBI's, being named to 3 All-Star games.
