Moustakas may not sign with any team before Opening Day

With the Spring Training slowly turning in the regular season, there are still plenty of top free agents that remain unsigned, most notably Scott Boras' clients Jake Arrieta and Mike Moustakas, who are still looking for a team.

Scott Boras himself is realistic about the possibilities of his players, more specifically Mike Moustakas,  to reach a deal before the campaign starts, but he wants to remain positive, saying that anything could happen although he "doesn't control" the market, as he told to Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star.

The teams are coming, and Moose is going to be playing baseball. But I don't control time, and I don't control competitiveness. The question is when do those teams want to commit to winning, and of course I think he'll be playing, yes

One thing that appears to be delaying Moustakas no agreeing on a deal with a team is his current contractual situation: The player rejected a Royals' qualifying offer in November and under the current collective bargaining agreement, a player can only be offered this once. If a player wants to sign Moustakas now, they will have to send a draft pick to the Royals as a compensation.

The 2015 World Series champion had an outstanding 2017 season, where he hit .272 with 38 HRs and 85 RBI's.
