It's safe to say that Donald Trump as the President of the United States has a lot of responsibilities and more important issues to worry about than baseball or any other sport. Despite that, he has been very outspoken and had some really strong words about the Collin Kaepernick and NFL controversy regarding the National Anthem.
But this time, he had a softer approach when he was asked about both New York's baseball teams: Yankees and Mets. Trump attended to the "Bernie and Sid" radio show on WABC 770 in New York City, making a rare appearance.
One of the hosts asked if he had an Opening Day ticket for both Yankees and Mets, which one he would attend, he was quite amused by the question:
You're going to get me in a lot of trouble. But I think both teams, because I know even the players, OK, in a lot of cases, because I'm a baseball fan and I like both teams. Randy (Levine) is so great, Wilpons are good people. So don't put me in that position
Even, President Trump had time to talk about new Bronx's Bomber, Giancarlo Stanton, and what he thinks about him and how will the Yankees be doing this season:
But I will say this: both of them (Yankees and Mets) are exciting. They have some pretty good — and the Yankees what they did with Stanton, that's going to be, I think that's going to be a great one. That's one that almost, famous last words, that's a player that almost can't fail.
Surely, this is a side of Trump's that we are not always able to see: Amused and willing to talk about a wide range of topics and had a quite nice chat with other people; as we are always used to see the confronting and angry side of the President.
