Last Thursday, November 16, Major League Baseball released the competitive balance for the amateur Draft 2018 season.

According to Carlos Collazo of Baseball America, the Detroit Tigers will have the top pick next year.

This because Detroit finished tied with the worst record in the Majors with the San Francisco Giants (64-98), however, the Tigers had a worse record in 2016, which earned them the first pick, following the Giants with No. 2.
