The Marlins are in a difficult situation; they got rid of some of their best players, incluiding the National League MVP, Giancarlo Stanton, and the new ownership are having trouble in making deals and significant signings.
But it looks like this is about to change. According to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com, the Fins are trying to make a deal with José Bautista -as the main priority-, Melky Cabrera and Jon Jay.
Frisaro stated that the signing will probably be anounced next week, as they are trying to make a "Major League signing". The favorites to make the deal are José Bautista, who resides in Florida, and Jon Jay.
Bautista is a free agent for the second time in, and it looks like it is his last chance to get a big contract, as he is 37 years-old and 2017 was one of the worst seasons of his career, with an AVG of .203, 23 HR and 65 RBI's in 157 games played last season.
