Just after the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry became a thing again this season when Joe Kelly and Tyler Austin were involved in a huge brawl earlier this campaign, we are now aiming to a crosstown rivalry that also could set up some sparks: The Subway Series.

Although the rivalry between the Mets and the Yankees is somewhat recent, it's still one of the most heated ones in the whole MLB, as Yankee Brett Gardner said to Randy Miller of NJ.com:

For us, as players, it's such a long season and everything kind of runs together and every game obviously is just as important as the others, but the Subway Series is always something that we look forward to.

And also, the Yankees want to beat the Mets so bad as they want to win against the Red Sox, according to Garner's words:

Boston obviously is in our division, but we want to beat the Mets just as badly as we want to beat Boston. I can't imagine what the city would be like if both teams would make it deep into the postseason and play each other.
