The Washington Nationals are not having a good start of the season, despite the great campaign that Bryce Harper is doing so far; and it seems that is the main reason on why the Nats are having a rough start.
According to Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post, the team managed by Dave Martinez has to deal with serious issues in order to protect the MVP Candidate, Bryce Harper. According to the stats, Harper is being avoided by pitchers.
Bryce Harper has been walked 30 times in 24 games played, as it's evident that rivals teams are trying to maximize Nationals' weaknesses by deliberately avoiding Harper and taking advantage of his less-powerful teammates.
The Nationals are right now struggling with hitters like Adam Eaton, Adam Murphy, and Anthony Rendón, and also Harper's numbers are starting to decrease because of that, as he now stands with a .257 average with 8 homers and 19 runs batted in.
