The New York Mets are at a very difficult time with the team falling positions in the East Division of the National League and José Reyes is one of the players who has had the most difficult times during this campaign.
Mets officials have discussed releasing Jose Reyes, but are conflicted given Reyes' roots in the organization. Mets want Reyes receiving a proper sendoff.— Mike Puma (@NYPost_Mets) 6 de junio de 2018
According to information from Mike Puma of the New York Post, the team has been discussing the possibility of releasing Reyes in the near future.
However, Puma explains that the team is not really sure about making that decision with Reyes, especially due to the roots Reyes has planted with the organization and the bond that he has with the fanbase.
So, the team would be looking for a classy outing for Reyes. In 40 games this season, Reyes is hitting .141 with a homer, 3 RBI and 6 runs.
