Looks like talent is abundant amongst the Thompson family: Klay Thompson is an NBA superstar with the Golden State Warriors, as his father, Mychal, is a former NBA player and his mother, Julie, played volleyball in college.

To create room on the 40-man roster, Trayce Thompson has been designated for assignment.
His younger brother, Trayce chose baseball above basketball and kind of made it into Major League level. However, this Tuesday, the younger Thompson brother was designated for assignment by the Los Angeles Dodgers, as he failed to make it into the Opening Day roster.
Trayce plays as an outfielder, and the Dodgers have an overpopulation issue in those positions, as they already have Chris Taylor, Yasiel Puig, Joc Pederson, Matt Kemp, Enrique Hernandez, and Andrew Toles to fill in those spots.
Thompson has been a pro for 3 years and he has played for the White Sox and the Dodgers, failing to establish himself as a consistent MLB player. Over the course of these 3 campaigns in the Majors, the 27-year-old holds a batting average of .233, having hit 20 home runs and with 50 runs batted in.
