Madison Bumgarner was forced to start the 2018 season in the disabled list after he broke his hand during a Spring Training game back in March; this was a huge blow for him and for the San Francisco Giants postseason hopes.
Luckily, the Giants are still in contention for a playoff spot and Bumgarner's return to action cames on a crucial time for both. Over the course of the season, San Francisco has suffered numerous injuries, but they have been dealing with them and waiting for their ace comeback.
And now, the time has come: Madison Bumgarner will make his season debut next Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to MLB.com's Jon Morosi.
With almost half of the Giants' starting rotation ruled out because of injuries, including Jeff Samardzija and Johnny Cueto, Bumgarner's addition will come up as a huge breath of fresh air for the struggling Giants pitching staff.
