This hasn't been a good season for the Toronto Blue Jays, who came up with the expectation of challenging the almighty power of the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees for a place in the playoffs.
Right now the Blue Jays are 6.5 games behind those two powerhouses, and without a complete team, it would be difficult to keep up with the pace that they're imposing, so with the absence of one of their best pitchers like Marcus Stroman, the task is even more difficult.
According to MLB.com, Stroman was placed on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder fatigue. Left-hander Tim Mayza has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo and right-handers Joe Biagini and Sam Gaviglio were recalled from Buffalo.
