Miguel Cabrera has returned to the Tigers lineup in his usual spot, batting third and playing first base against the Blue Jays on Friday. Cabrera had been on the disabled list since May 4 with a right hamstring strain.

Cabrera is hitting .323 with three home runs and 21 RBIs in 26 games. The Tigers entered Friday with a 26-30 record that puts them 4 1/2 games back of the first-place Indians.

The Tigers also put lefty Ryan Carpenter on the DL with a right oblique strain, recalled right-hander Zac Reininger from Triple-A Toledo and designated infielder Pete Kozma for assignment.
