The Mets' bullpen took another hit Friday in advance of the Subway Series, when the team placed closer Jeurys Familia on the disabled list due to right shoulder soreness. The club recalled right-hander Jacob Rhame from Triple-A Las Vegas to replace Familia on the roster.
Familia owned a 2.48 ERA in 29 innings. The Mets' setup man, AJ Ramos, is also on the disabled list, making Robert Gsellman and Seth Lugo candidates to close.
Also, Mets ace Noah Syndergaard experienced some swelling and discomfort after playing catch and will miss his start Sunday, the team announced Friday.
Seth Lugo will start Sunday against the Yankees.
