The Mexican right-handed-pitcher Roberto Osuna has put himself in the record books as he has reached a historic milestone this Tuesday. The Blue Jays' closer became the youngest player to reach 100 saves in the Major Leagues, as the reliever is just 23 years old.

The Mexican broke the record of another fellow Latin-American pitcher, Francisco Rodríguez, as the Venezuelan reached 100 saves at the age of 24 on September 10 of 2006. Also, Osuna tied Billy Koch in the third place of Blue Jays all-time saves leader.

During recent years, Osuna has established himself as one of the most reliable closers in the Major Leagues, as this season he has 5 saves in 6 opportunities; he has 6 innings pitched and has recorded 3 strikeouts over te course of the campaign
