After the problems that the Mexican Roberto Osuna had with the Canadian justice and major league last year after being arrested on charges of domestic violence, apparently in MLB have already forgotten this incident and the pitcher is preparing to face 2019 with a Huge responsibility ahead with the Houston Astros.
AJ Hinch on his closer: "If anybody's wandering, (Roberto) Osuna will be the guy...The league has graduated to the point you can say somebody's your closer and use him in the seventh or eighth inning and people don't freak out. It's amazing how the sport has evolved." #Astros pic.twitter.com/SMdGtXZXtA— Mark Berman (@MarkBermanFox26) February 14, 2019
According to The Associated Press, the manager of the Astros, A.J. Hinch has said that Osuna will be his closer for next season and he does not want to create speculation or a false sense of competition in his other pitchers.
I can pretend and create a false competition, but that does not give me any credibility. Transparency is very important and put this conversation of the closer in the freezer.
Osuna was suspended for 75 games by MLB and decided not to appeal the punishment. Completing it was changed by the Blue Jays to the Houston Astros where he has had a decent performance with the Astos, where he pitched in 23 games and made 13 saves.
