Shohei Ohtani is causing a huge sensation in the MLB, as he has proved his haters wrong and all the people who doubted him. After a difficult Spring Training, his first month in the Big Leagues has been outstanding both at bat and on the mound.
But now, the Japanese wonder knows of what is he capable of, and he is lobbying for more playtime as he said to ESPN on an interview, as he continues to impress and amaze baseball fans:
It's the beginning of the season, so I think they are being pretty careful with me right now. Once the season gets tougher and the schedule gets tougher throughout the summer, hopefully I can make them want to play me more. I would like to play more. If not, that's what it is. I have to follow what they have to say
Ohtani's stats are really impressive so far, as he bats for .368 with three dingers and 7 RBI's in 19 at bats. On the mound, he stands for 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA and 18 strikeouts over the course of 13 IP, earning the American League Player of the Week Award.
