Since the Japanese wonder, Shohei Ohtani, was placed in the disabled list due to a UCL injury in his throwing arm, there has been much talk about the chances of him missing the rest of the season, as many reports have suggested that he will need a Tommy John Surgery.
However, the Los Angeles Angels are still hopeful on Ohtani's chances of playing again this season, according to MLB.com's Jon Morosi. Angels' general manager, Billy Eppler, told to Morosi that the team has not taken a decision yet regarding surgeries.
"There have been no changes in Ohtani's diagnosis and neither our physicians nor medical staff have recommended (Tommy John surgery) or said it's likely.
Some reports even suggested that the diagnosis for Ohtani is so bad that he will even miss the 2019 season and he will not return until 2020.
