What a debut for Masahiro Tanaka on the mound of Yankee Stadium during his first summer training before the start of the 2020 season. After the second session of the Yankees' roster in his stadium, it was his turn to throw the Japanese starter, however, his reception was not as expected.
A moment of terror was experienced in the historic area of the Bronx after Giancarlo Stanton hit Masahiro Tanaka after a strong hit that went to the head of the Japanese, who was launching a simulated game.
Moments after the coup, Tanaka was struck on the mound while the reaction of all who observed and Stanton himself was most distressing. After the spectacular event, medical personnel immediately entered the field of play to help the pitcher.
Video of the TERRIBLE blow suffered by Tanaka at the hands of Stanton:

Para poner un poco de contexto, por lo regular las pelotas salen del bate de Stanton a un mínimo de entre 95mph y 100mph. pic.twitter.com/fXMin03fbn— Esteban Letona (@EstebanLetona) July 4, 2020
Minutes later the veteran pitcher was helped to head for the local cave. The good news is that the Asian was able to drop the diamond under his own foot.
